Philippine Airline online booking site expensive.
Numerous readers in Australia reported it and PV checked it out. It's confirmed, booking online on Philippine Airlines website cost Australian passengers going to the Philippines more than it should be. Our test centred on a flight from Sydney to Manila departing 28 Oct 2013 ,returning 17 Nov2013. Philippine Airline site quoted A$ 798.26 while Sydney based travel agents offering same for A$ 768.-
However even Philippine Airlines quote of A$ 798.26 it's not all and this figure could further increase by about $24.– because of the 3% “Currency conversion rate” credit card companies charge on transaction in other currencies than Australian dollars. Philippine Airlines mention it that the charge will appear in US$ but does not mention the credit card companies surcharge.
